WINES FROM SPAIN BASIC CERTIFIED EDUCATORS COURSE

The “Wines from Spain Education Program” is an official program launched by Spain government with the purpose of training the best Chinese wine professionals in order to certify them as official educators of Wines from Spain. They will spread the knowledge of Spanish wines in the Chinese market while ensuring the quality of the contents and of the delivery. These educators will help Chinese wine professionals and wine lovers to learn about the extraordinary quality and diversity of Spanish wines.

There are currently four Certified Advanced Educators in China: Sam Chen, Corinne Mui, Ofilos Wu and Xing Wei. These Certified Advanced Educators can teach both the Basic and Advanced Courses of Wines from Spain, and they can also train basic educators. They received their training in Spain, under the direction of Pedro Ballesteros MW.

On November 14th to 16th, in Shanghai, Pedro Ballesteros MW will direct the first training and official exam of candidates to the WFS Basic Educator Certificate. Those who pass the exam will be qualified to teach the Wines from Spain Basic Course, and will also become candidates to join the next group who will receive specific training in Spain for the Advanced Educator certification.

Due to the Coronavirus control measures, the training will be carried out both online and offline: Mr. Ballesteros will lead the course by video conference, supported locally by the advanced educator Sam Chen, and the students will gather for three days to learn the course and taste more than 30 symbolic wines from different regions of Spain, and to take the exam.
