In order to celebrate the Monastrell Day (the first Wednesday of October) and Bobal Day (October 16th.), Wines from Spain, together with Dragon Phoenix Wine Academy, will organize an online tasting during which the two Masters of Wine Fongyee Walker MW and Gus Zhu MW will introduce these two native grape varieties from Spain. In order to allow the participants to taste the wines together with the speakers, the wines presented by the speakers (3 made from Monastrell and 3 made from Bobal) will be re-bottled into small bottles and sent to them. This way their experience will be complete and they will be able to better understand the characteristics of these 2 varieties, of which there are recorded data in Spain dating from as long ago as 1380, so they are really very ancient native red grape varieties from Spain.
