Description: In the blind tasting, there was a diverse range of 6 wines from Rioja, Rías Baixas, Castilla-Leon, Ribera del Duero and Priorat, including some of their most prominent grape varieties: Viura, White Garnacha, Albariño, Godello, Tempranillo and Cariñena. Mr Simon Zhou, founder of Ruby Red, introduced to the guests the winemaking history and tradition in Spain, emphasizing the unique character for each variety, and then led them to taste and appreciate the style changes of the same variety in different wine regions.
The tasting gave guests the chance to enhance their blind tasting skills of Spanish wines, so for example they can finally tell Albariño from other varieties and identify Tempranillo from Rioja. Moreover, Mr. Simon Zhou combined the explanation of each wine with the presentation of famous people, architectural landmarks and gastronomic highlights from that region, which added depth and value to the brand of Wines from Spain.
